NSCDC partners California National Guards on training and rangers


The Commandant General of NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu played host to the Commander of California National Guard, Major General David Baldwin and his entourage at the Corps Headquarters, Abuja to further reinforce the relationship between the two agencies.
The Corps Chief Executive appreciated the visiting General for the training extended to his personnel on the protection of critical infrastructure and National Asset, protection of liberated areas in Borno state as well as donation of equipment to the Borno State Command of the Corps.
Gana reiterated that General David Baldwin is a man of integrity who says a thing and fulfils it. "General visited my office and made a promise of training my personnel and supporting with equipments, and all  these were accomplished", he noted.
''Like Oliver Twist, we will continue to request for more support, considering the fact that, as a baby, we need every available support to grow. We are planning a strategic training for 5000 members of the Agro-Rangers unit for effective monitoring of the proposed cattle ranches and the Agro-Allied investments in the country'', Gana added.
Reacting to the request by the CG, Major General David Baldwin appreciated the Corps for the relationship and cooperation, reaffirming that California National Guard would support the corps in equipment and training for the middle and lower Cadre Personnel on general operations, information sharing, disaster response, Cyber Security and Synergy.
The representative of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Mr Gillis Harry, director special duty appreciated the California National Guard for training and supporting the Corps with equipments and appealed that the training should not be a one off but a continuous one and if possible should be zoned.
He echoed that, Nigeria is into livestock farming, therefore, the kind of training required for the Agro-Rangers is the syndentry  one that could make it possible for the livestock to be trained and catered for in the ranch without moving about for greener pasture.
The Commandant General and General Baldwin presented the equipments donated to the Corps by California National Guard to the Commandant of Borno State for effective usage while request was made on behalf of other Commandants of the North-East States.
The Borno State Commandant Abdullahi received the equipments and appreciated the Commandant General and  Baldwin with a promise to continue working hard to justify the donation of the equipments.
