Aminu Ado Bayero appointed new Emir of Kano

Following the dethronement of Emir Sausi as Emir of Kano and his banishment to Nasarwa, the State government Monday appointed Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the new Emir of Kano hours after dethroning Muhammad Sanusi II and taking him to Nasarawa under heavy security.

The new Emir is the son of late Emir Ado Bayero, who Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, succeeded.
