Ifeanyi Okowa
Governor
of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has appointed six
additional Special Advisers, in his deliberate attempt to bring on
board some of the best brains, highly resourceful and experienced
individuals to assist him actualise the Stronger Delta Agenda of his
second tenure expected to end on a superlative note on May 29, 2023.
A
statement by Secretary to Delta State Government, Chiedu Ebie Esq,
said the following persons have been appointed as Special Advisers by
the governor; Chief Edwin Uzor, Hon Mary Iyasere, Hon Johnson Erijo,
Prince Kelly Penawou, Comrade Mike Okeme and Hon Pascal Adigwe.
Reacting
to the news of the appointments, a Chieftain of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in a statement
commended the foresight and visionary leadership of the governor, for
painstakingly bringing on board key professionals; and technocrats
who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields and in
public service.
He
congratulated Mrs Mary Iyasere, a former Commissioner for Commerce
and Industry in Okowa's first tenure, for making the list of the new
Special Advisers, pointing out that her service to Deltans and the
State from 2015 to 2019, was exemplary and it helped a great deal in
the attainment of certain socioeconomic objectives as encapsulated in
the Smart Agenda.
He
thank the governor for bringing Iyasere on board as one of the
strategic team members of the Stronger Delta Agenda, adding that her
wealth of experience as a renowned industrialist and exceptional
entrepreneur before involvement in politics and governance, will in
doubt add great values to the governor's set out goals for his second
tenure.
Oghenesivbe,
a Fellow of the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration
(FCIDA), further asserted that Iyasere remained a role model to women
in politics; in terms of dedication to duty, firmness, great
moral values, tactfulness and above all, penchant for hardwork, good
measure of focus and loyalty to PDP and the governor.
He
predicted that with the solid team the governor is raising for the
second tenure, the good people of the state shall experience greater
performance and heavy dose of good governance in all aspects of the
state socioeconomic and infrastructure development, and appealed to
Deltas to join hands with this administration as partners in
progress, for the speedy attainment of a Stronger Delta State.

governor and the state, once again, for raising pragmatic,
result oriented, tested and trusted individuals to drive the policies
and programmes of this administration" Oghenesivbe added.
