Famous ex-footballer, Diego Maradona was reportedly arrested at the airport after his ex-lover Rico Oliva sued him for a £5million pay-out.
The Argentine legend was arrested after he flew into the country from Mexico. It is understood that the 1986 World Cup hero was questioned regarding a court action filed by his former girlfriend Oliva.
The 58-year-old and Olivia dated for six years when they met in 2012 before parting ways in December last year. Oliva has now launched a claim in the San Miguel Family Court for "action of economic compensation" the legendary football. Reports claim authorities confronted Maradona at the airport and took him aside while he was returning home from Mexico where he manages Dorados de Sinaloa.
He was then detained and issued a formal notice of the proceedings against him from Oliva who is also a former footballer. A court date has been listed for June 13 which will be attended by his lawyer Matias Morla.
Morla is said to have been with Maradona during his brief detention of a few minutes before the former Napoli icon was released.
Maradona posted a photo of himself with Morla in a car after leaving the airport: “Now in Buenos Aires, on my way home with my friend @matiasmorlaok.” Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Diego Maradona has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo's exploits in the Champions League following his incredible hat-trick against Atletico Madrid. The 1986 World Cup winner also joined in the debate of who is the best player between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in this generation.
