Commandant
General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi
Gana Muhammadu has congratulated the Corps personnel for a successful
promotion examination conducted by the Civil Defence, Fire
Immigration and Prisons Services Board for eligible personnel.
According
to the Deputy Commandant General in charge of Operations, Hillary
Kelechi, fsi who stood in for the Commandant General during the
exercise at the Corps National Headquarters, Abuja, the examination
is a yearly exercise, therefore, it should not be seen as a do or die
affair.
He
cautioned personnel that promotion exercise is a privilege and not a
right; therefore, the idea of personnel demanding letters of
recommendation from highly placed personalities in the country is not
encouraged and would not be tolerated.
He
added that part of conditions for promotion includes but not limited
to the written examination; other criterion such as, availability of
vacancies, eligibility of personnel, Annual Performance Evaluation
Report among others would be taken into consideration.
He
assured all personnel who took part in the promotion examination of
fairness in the process and strict adherence to the provisions of
extant rules.
In
his parting words, Madu encouraged all the personnel to continue to
put in their best and remain good ambassadors of the Corps wherever
they find themselves in the service of the nation.
