The
African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the FCI+IFG Union and the
University of Malta today in Cairo announced the opening of
registrations for the 2019 cohort of the Certificate of Finance in
International Trade (COFIT).
Stephen
Kauma, Afreximbank’s Director & Global Head of the Human
Resources Department, said that COFIT 2019, which is open to banking
and trade finance professionals from across Africa, will be delivered
in four full-time modules of one week each. Two modules will be
delivered in Malta and the other two in Cairo, with the first module
taking place in Cairo from 08 April 2019 and all presentations taking
place in English.
Mr.
Kauma said that COFIT was developed to meet the demands of the
commercial world and offered a platform for participants to increase
their understanding of all aspects of international trade, import and
export business, finance of international trade, supply chain finance
and commercial finance, including factoring, invoice discounting and
asset based lending, among other areas.
He
encouraged Afreximbank’s partner organisations to enroll their
staff members for COFIT 2019 to give them essential insight,
awareness and understanding of international trade for their career
development and for enhanced skills.
Mr.
Kauma said that the full tuition fees for the programme amounted to
Euro 6,750 per student but added that Afreximbank would offer a 50
per cent partial tuition scholarship to the first seven (7) people
who confirm attendance and finalise their registration requirements.
COFIT
2019 follows the successful delivery of COFIT 2016, 2017 programmes
from which a total of 15 students graduated, and 7 students of the
2018 COFIT programme to graduate by end of this year 2018.
